About the Journal
The Interdisciplinary Journal of the African Alliance for Research, Advocacy and Innovation (IJAARAI) is a scholarly, peer reviewed publication dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary academic dialogue and evidence based solutions to challenges relevant to Africa and the Global South. Established under the auspices of the African Alliance for Research, Advocacy and Innovation, the journal serves as a dynamic platform for researchers, practitioners, policymakers, innovators, and advocates to share rigorous scholarship and practical insights that contribute to sustainable development and social transformation.
The journal promotes interdisciplinary collaboration by bringing together diverse academic and professional fields such as public policy, health sciences, psychology, education, technology, environmental studies, gender studies, economics, governance, and the humanities. Through this broad intellectual engagement, the journal seeks to bridge the gap between theory and practice and to encourage research that generates meaningful real world impact. A central mission of IJAARAI is to amplify Africa led scholarship and contextually grounded knowledge. The journal prioritizes research that highlights indigenous knowledge systems, innovative practices, and locally relevant solutions to pressing social, economic, political, and technological issues. Submissions from both established and emerging scholars, particularly those based in Africa or working within the African diaspora, are strongly encouraged in order to ensure diverse and inclusive perspectives.
In addition to publishing traditional journal articles, the Interdisciplinary Journal of the African Alliance for Research, Advocacy and Innovation also publishes peer reviewed book chapters and edited volumes. This initiative enables the journal to support thematic and collaborative scholarship on complex interdisciplinary issues that require broader and more comprehensive treatment. All book chapters published through the journal undergo the same rigorous double blind peer review process as regular articles and are assigned individual Digital Object Identifiers to ensure citation, visibility, and global discoverability. This expanded publishing model strengthens the journal’s role as a hub for in depth scholarly engagement and knowledge exchange.
A distinctive feature of IJAARAI is its strong commitment to research advocacy and innovation. Beyond the dissemination of academic findings, the journal emphasizes the practical implications of research for policy formulation, community development, institutional reform, and technological advancement. Contributions are therefore expected not only to demonstrate scholarly rigor but also to show clear relevance to societal needs and developmental priorities. The journal seeks to foster scholarship that informs decision making, supports innovation, and contributes to sustainable and equitable progress across African societies and beyond.
Published quarterly, the Interdisciplinary Journal of the African Alliance for Research, Advocacy and Innovation maintains high academic standards through a transparent and rigorous editorial process. All submissions undergo double blind peer review and are evaluated based on originality, methodological soundness, ethical integrity, and potential impact. By combining academic excellence with a strong focus on advocacy, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration, the journal plays an important role in strengthening Africa’s presence in the global knowledge economy and in promoting research that advances development, resilience, and social justice.
